This policy explains which data we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights. It applies to the giguellerie.be website and to the services of the centre.
Who is responsible for your data
Dr Pierre Paindaveine (BE 0689.365.142) and Linalux Equins SCRL (BE 0888.440.519), Giguellerie 32, 5640 Mettet, each for the services it provides (see the legal notice). For any question: pierre@paindaveine.vet.
The data we process
- Your contact details: name, first name, address, telephone, e-mail, and VAT number if you act for a company.
- The information about your horses needed for their care and for official documents: identification, owners, examinations, test results, health documents.
- Invoicing and payment data.
- For your client area: your e-mail address, your password (stored encrypted) and the login log (date, IP address), kept for the security of your account.
- The messages and forms you send us, including documents signed online.
We collect this data from you, or from the person who entrusts the horse to us.
Why we use it
- To provide the services you ask for and perform the contract.
- To meet our legal obligations: accounting, health registers and certificates, requests from the Belgian food safety agency (AFSCA/FAVV).
- To answer your questions and keep you informed about a service in progress.
- To send you our newsletter, if you asked for it or are a client. Each issue contains a link to unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep the website and your client area secure, which is our legitimate interest.
We do not sell your data and do not use it for any profiling.
Who can access it
The people at the centre who need it, bound by professional secrecy. The providers who help us deliver our services (hosting, e-mail, document storage, management software, accounting, laboratories, transport), only for the task entrusted to them. The partners involved in a service you ask for: centres and veterinarians receiving a shipment, centres supplying the recipient mares, insurers. The authorities, when the law requires it.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union; such transfers take place with the safeguards required by the GDPR.
How long we keep it
- Your file and your horses' files: as long as you are a client, then for the retention periods required by law.
- Accounting records: for the period set by Belgian accounting and tax law.
- The client area login log: 180 days.
Cookies
The website sets no advertising or audience measurement cookies. A single, essential cookie is created when you log in to your client area: it keeps you logged in during your visit.
Your rights
You can ask to see your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its use or to receive it in a common format. You can also object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Some data must however be kept to comply with the law. Write to us at pierre@paindaveine.vet: we answer within one month and may ask you to prove your identity.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels (dataprotectionauthority.be).
